Lassiter Mills Park, Raleigh NC

I was in Raleigh recent­ly and had a chance to go on a lit­tle pho­to excur­sion with Karl. We went to the Las­siter Mills Park where I planned to shoot some of my FP4 film in the GA645. Fate had oth­er plans. 

I’d had the same set of CR123 bat­ter­ies in the Fuji for years and they final­ly gave out that morn­ing. Well, they had giv­en out some­time in the lat­ter part of 2013, but I did­n’t know that until that brisk Feb­ru­ary morn (Aside — it does always seem that Karl and I find pho­tog­ra­phy a bit cold). With no oth­er cam­era on me but my iPhone 4S, I decid­ed to shoot a “roll.” Below are my favorites from the session.

They are unabashed­ly dig­i­tal — cap­tured on a phone, post-processed to hell and back. But some­times you must embrace the media you have — the alter­na­tive would have been no imagery at all.
